A+B=CD Foundation (Academics + Basketball = College Degrees)

In collaboration with alumni such as myself, Patrick Mangan, Athletic Director and boys basketball coach at Frederick Douglass Academy, has put together a foundation to aid student-athletes in their preparation for college and life beyond.  Anyone that knows me well understands the love and dedication I have for Mr. Mangan and FDA as a whole.

It is hard for me to imagine my life had I not attended FDA.  While I wasn’t spending my days on the streets as a teenager, I was not the least bit focused on my studies or on maximizing my potential.  The guidance I received from the FDA staff, specifically from Mr. Mangan, continues to be invaluable.  I learned that while basketball can be a tool for success, combining it with a solid education provided me more opportunities than I ever dreamed of.  While I have yet to reach all of my goals, I can say with confidence I am doing well for myself, and see an even brighter future ahead.

JTW FIT

As many of you already know, I am currently in the process of starting my own personal training business.  Things are starting to come along.  So far I have four clients on board and am looking to acquire a few more as time goes on.  I have also started looking at many of the certification programs out there.  There are some very good ones such as NASM and ACE.  I'm pretty sure I'll be using one of their services when the time is right. 

More importantly, I'm looking for ideas and opinions.  I'm sure many of you have that entrepreneurial spirit and I would love to hear what you have done to get your businesses off the ground.  If you know anybody who works as a CPT at a gym or has started their own personal training company, send their contact information over.  It would be helpful to get as much information as possible going forward.
